A partnership between 国产传媒 and New Heights Charter School

Our new Teacher Residency Program provides an innovative and accelerated, one-year online teacher preparation program centered around a yearlong student-teaching placement as a Teaching Partner at - a TK-8 neighborhood, high-performance school located near 国产传媒’s Doheny Campus in downtown Los Angeles. The mission of the Teacher Residency program is to address California’s teacher shortage, diversify the educator workforce, and develop (and retain) credentialed teachers from diverse backgrounds who will foster academic excellence, build a caring learning community, and promote inclusion and equity.

Our Teacher Residency Program is an Elementary Teacher Preparation Program that leads to a California Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential. With a guaranteed teaching position at New Heights Charter School upon completion, participants will have the opportunity to immediately apply their skills and credential in a supportive and dynamic setting.

Financial incentives

Designed to overcome barriers like time and cost, the program’s structure aims to make teacher credentialing more accessible for aspiring educators. With up to 90% tuition assistance, a competitive teaching salary during the school year, and full health benefits covered by New Heights Charter School, program residents can focus on their training without financial strain. Additional support, such as funding for state assessments and a bonus stipend for those who teach for four years in public schools upon completion of their residency, further enhances the program’s mission. Residency students may also receive tuition support for an Induction program upon successful completion.
