Education benefits process for veterans and dependents

Many military-connected students use VA education benefits, also known as the GI Bill®, to pay for their education. To use VA education benefits at 国产传媒, please make sure to follow the steps below. For more information on the certification process, please contact our School Certifying Official (SCO).

Process for veterans

Below is an outline of the process to obtain your VA benefits if you are a veteran.

  1. You must apply for benefits at . The VA states that their application review process will take up to, and possibly exceed, six (6) weeks.
  2. If this is your first time using your GI benefits, please fill out the online application [form 22-1990] and [form 22-1995].
  3. These VA forms can be found at .
  4. Send a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility to our SCO. The preferred method to submit your COE (Certificate of Eligibility) is via email. Please send a copy to any of the following email addresses:

  5. Request certification in writing to the SCO. This may be via an electronic form provided by the SCO. Students must request certification for each term in which they want to use benefits.

Please note that the VA will not notify the school when they receive your forms and paperwork. Please contact the VA for a status update on your application. The VA will mail you the Certificate of Eligibility directly when it has completed processing your application for benefits. Please make sure to send a copy of the certificate to the Mount’s SCO.

Once the SCO receives the copy of the Certificate of Eligibility and the request for certification, the SCO will begin the verification process. You must be registered for courses for the SCO to certify your enrollment with the VA. If your costs are not 100% covered by the VA, any remaining balance will need to be covered by financial aid or paid in full by the clearance deadline, which is the day after the add/drop deadline of each semester.

Process for dependents

Below is an outline of the process to obtain your VA benefits if you are a dependent.
