The 2024 Early Care and Education Facilities Study (ECEFS) provides data and strategies to meet our communities鈥� anticipated need for ECE facilities. This study comprises two sections: (i) a county-wide ECE facilities needs assessment, cost estimate, and financing options, and (ii) a broader discussion of facilities planning and design, summaries of various ECE case studies of policies and program efforts, and a set of recommendations.

2017 Early Learning Facilities Study
The 2017 Early Learning Facilities Study found that there were nearly 32,000 children ages 0-5 years in 国产传媒 Clara County that are in need of, yet did not have access to, licensed, quality childcare; a crisis in access that disproportionally affects families who reside in 国产传媒 Clara, San Jose, Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy. Early care and education providers cited lack of space, issues finding a site, lack of local or state funding, issues obtaining a license, and local zoning and land use restrictions as the primary barriers to the early learning facility expansion and renovation that is needed to address this access issue.鈥�
