Priority application deadlines

Fall

March 1

Applicants are highly encouraged to submit (and complete, if possible) their application by the priority deadlines to be considered for maximum scholarship funding. Applications received after the priority deadlines are welcomed and will be reviewed on a space-available basis.

Required application components

The following items are required as part of our holistic application process. Please note, however, that the admission committee reserves the right to request additional documents, such as letters of recommendation, to make an informed decision.

Applicants must submit an online Graduate Application in order to be considered for admission.

Applicants are required to submit an application essay. You may upload it to your online application or send it afterwards as an attachment to graddocs@msmu.edu.

Essay Prompt: Please describe your short and long term professional goals, areas of interest, and rationale for applying to the DNP program (maximum of 1000 words).

Applicants are required to submit a resume or curriculum vitae to convey how their academic and professional experiences can contribute to the program. Please make sure to outline all your educational and professional experiences, along with any achievements and activities, such as community work. You may upload your resume to your online application or send it afterwards as an attachment to graddocs@msmu.edu.

DNP applicants are required to submit three letters of recommendations who can address both academic abilities and work-related experience. Recommenders should comment on an applicant’s ability to succeed in the program.

To submit letters of recommendation, simply provide your recommender's name and email address on the online application when prompted. Your recommenders will receive an email invitation to upload their recommendation.

Please note: The 国产传媒 Office of Graduate Admissions policy is that unless the recommender has been notified in advance that the student has not waived their right to view the letter, all letters of recommendation are held confidential, and a copy may not be provided to the student by the University.

After submitting your application, please arrange for official transcripts from the college or university that ultimately conferred your undergraduate degree – no need to submit official transcripts from community colleges – unofficial copies will suffice, unless you wish to have courses taken at such institutions considered for transfer or evaluation for waiver of certain exams or requirements.

Important: for transcripts to be considered official, they must be issued by the institution and sent directly to Mount Saint Mary’s University in a sealed envelope or electronically. Copies of transcripts mailed or hand-delivered by applicants will be considered unofficial.

Official transcripts may be sent to Mount Saint Mary’s University in one of two ways:

  • Postal Delivery:
    Mount Saint Mary’s University
    Office of Graduate Admissions
10 Chester Pl. Los Angeles, CA 90007
  • Electronic Delivery:
Please instruct your institution to submit secure, electronically-delivered transcript to graddocs@msmu.edu.

All applicants must possess and submit a valid and clear Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing to practice in the state of California.
