Tuition at the Mount is charged on per unit basis. The tuition rate below is not inclusive of any scholarships or discounts you may receive. We make every effort to make tuition as affordable as possible; all our applicants are automatically considered for a graduate scholarship – no need to apply separately. Our admission counselors are always available to walk you through tuition, on semester-by-semester basis, and provide you with an estimate of your total cost, inclusive of federal financial aid and any scholarships or discounts you may receive. Here at the Mount, we believe that your best investment is an education, and its pursuit should not be limited by financial concerns. For that reason, we are committed to helping you afford your college education by offering federal financial aid. Graduate students may qualify for up to $20,500 per year through the Federal Direct Loan Program.

Education program scholarships

The Education program offers program-specific scholarships to help finance your education. Explore the opportunities below and contact the Education program for more information.

Contact the Chair of the Education Department at 213.477.2620 to request an application. Nominations may either be made by faculty members or interested students. Interested students must email the application to the Department Chair by September 1. Awards are announced in the Education Department newsletter.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in 国产传媒’s Teacher Credential Program
  • An employee of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
  • Eligible students apply each year and are selected by the faculty of the Teacher Credential Program

Applicants should contact the Chair of the Education Department at 213.477.2620 to request an application. Nominations may either be made by faculty members or interested students. Interested students must email the application to the Department Chair by September 1. Awards are announced in the Education Department newsletter.

The William Randolph Hearst Endowed Scholarship Fund for Future Teachers (est. in 2005) is for undergraduate or graduate students in education. Students are jointly selected by the Chair of the Education Department and the Director of Financing. To be awarded for one to three students annually.

Requirements:

  • Good academic standing
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Commitment to working in public schools upon graduation.
  • Must be U.S. Citizen

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in the Master of Science Program in Instructional Leadership
  • Three years experience as a public school teacher or administrator
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Commitment to teacher leadership in urban Los Angeles schools

The Mount’s Instructional Leadership Program is proud to present the Bessie Bruington Burke Scholarship. Mrs. Burke was the first black teacher and principal in Los Angeles public schools. In her honor, the Mount will award a $5,000 scholarship (minimum) to new preliminary credential or instructional leadership students who:

  • demonstrates commitment to social justice
  • serves the community outside of the classroom
  • effectively reaches youth
  • models leadership for peers and colleagues
  • connects with care

Teachers selected for the award will be invited to join the Mount’s Instructional Leadership networking cohort.

Requirements: Must be a graduate student in special education, preferably one who is interested in helping the developmentally disabled.

Full-time teachers and administrators working in Catholic schools may be eligible for significant tuition reductions. Those working in schools outside the LAUSD boundary area should refer to the “Tuition Reduction Program for 国产传媒 Graduate Students”. Individuals with at least one full year of teaching experience in a Catholic school who are working at a Catholic school within the LAUSD boundary area may be eligible for our Catholic Educator Scholars (CES) program which offers significant tuition reduction.

Education program discounts

The Education program also offers tuition discounts to employees and members of partner organizations. New organizations are added as new agreements are established, so please make sure to check back often.

Prospective students who are part-time or full-time employees of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles qualify to receive a 35% Tuition Discount.

Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average in order to qualify. Workshops and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are not included in this discount. It is the student's responsibility to complete and file a Tuition Discount Application form with the Student Accounts Office prior to registration each semester. Please contact the Graduate Admission Office for more information.

Full-time, Catholic-school educators in the Induction program seeking to clear their preliminary teaching credential now qualify to receive a 35% Tuition Discount. To qualify, applicants must be teachers of record at a private Catholic-school in one of the twelve (12) Dioceses in the state of California.

Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average in order to qualify. Workshops and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are not included in this discount. It is the student's responsibility to complete and file a Tuition Discount Application form with the Student Accounts Office and submit proof of employment prior to registration each semester. Please contact the Graduate Admission Office for more information.

Teachers working at private or independent schools in Los Angeles County qualify to receive a 35% Tuition Discount. To qualify, applicants must be teachers of record at their school.
