Serve the Local & Global Neighbor
Justice and service
Join us as we work for justice locally and around the world. Learn about important issues for our planet and our neighbors far and near, and how to engage in effective, transformative action for justice.
Your unstoppable spirit will change lives of the “dear neighbor” for the better, you’ll grow in leadership, and you’ll connect to people from the neighborhood and across the globe. You’ll live out the vision of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph, bringing your light to a world so in need of healing.
Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God.
Traditions and festivities
There’s much to celebrate and learn throughout the year in special days of our Mount’s CSJ traditions and our Catholic heritage, enriched by the sacred festivities of a variety of religions. Gather for a meal during Ramadan, celebrate Passover, make Advent wreaths and Mardi Gras masks, get to know our Sisters of St. Joseph - all with Mount friends and colleagues.
The Mount’s commitment to justice
Our commitment is rooted in Catholic social teaching based on Gospel values that inspire our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.
Rooted in the charism and heritage of our CSJs, we are called to educate our students to become leaders who embody and foster a spirit to serve others and promote positive change in the world. As such, our mission, values and vision statements will continue to reflect our profound commitment to excellence through our foundational principles of social justice, diversity and inclusivity….
Take action and serve others
Mount students, staff, faculty and administration prioritize working for justice in many areas. Campus Ministry & Spirituality teams educate themselves and others, develop programs, and do political advocacy related to the following issues.
- Homelessness
- Care for the planet
- Fair Trade
- Prison ministry
- Hunger
- Racism
- Support for students
Caring for the planet
Today, however, we have to realize that a true ecological approach always becomes a social approach; it must integrate questions of justice in debates on the environment, so as to hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.

Why does the Mount support the work of Catholic Relief Services?
For more than 75 years, CRS has been providing expertise and compassion to the very poorest of our brothers and sisters in more than 100 countries. And it's because of people like you.
In alignment with the mission of 国产传媒, the call to service of the Gospel and Catholic social teaching, and the lived charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph, CRS helps our community expand its empathy with people around the world, grow in leadership skills and take concrete actions for change.
