More than 1,000 guests, including over 330 students who have been accepted to Mount Saint Mary’s University, gathered at the Chalon Campus on Saturday, April 5, for Admitted Students Day — a vibrant and welcoming event designed to introduce future students to life at the Mount and give them a chance to solidify their final college decision.

The annual event, organized by the Office of Admissions, kicked off with a special welcome from President Ann McElaney-Johnson, PhD, setting the tone for an engaging and informative experience. Students and their families then had the opportunity to explore the campus through a variety of activities tailored to showcase the University’s academic programs, student life and supportive community.

At the Community Fair hosted at the Circle, faculty, staff and current students connected with admitted students over food, conversation and shared experiences. The fair also provided opportunities to learn about student clubs, organizations and different engagement opportunities on campus. Meanwhile, a series of 5-minute academic showcases gave a dynamic preview of classroom life, as Mount professors delivered short, TEDx-style presentations on topics they are passionate about.

Campus tours, led by student ambassadors, gave admitted students a firsthand look at the University’s historic and picturesque grounds, including residence halls and academic spaces. Guests also had the chance to explore the Nursing Skills and Simulation Lab, meet with financial aid counselors, and even finalize their enrollment by submitting their tuition and housing deposit on-site.

“The enthusiasm from our admitted students was truly inspiring,” said Erika Yamasaki, PhD, assistant vice president of enrollment management at Mount Saint Mary’s. “It was incredible to see so many current students, faculty and staff come together to welcome them — each eager to share what makes life at the Mount so unique. It was a memorable day filled with connection and community.”

For many students, the event solidified their decision to attend Mount Saint Mary’s. “The energy on campus was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive — it felt like they truly cared about us and our success. I left feeling confident that this is the right place for me,” a prospective student shared.

From savoring delicious food to engaging in conversations with faculty and future classmates, the event embodied the spirit of Mount Saint Mary’s: a place where students are supported, inspired and empowered from the very beginning of their journey.

The next event for deposited students is the Athenian Experience in June, an orientation-style event designed to help prepare students for their first year at the Mount. Admitted students who would like to visit campus for upcoming events can visit our admitted student events page.
