Ben Levinson ‘15, who earned an MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship from the Mount, is driven by a simple but powerful goal: helping businesses succeed while helping others along the way.

Currently serving as the COO of Art House, a tech company specializing in augmented reality, Ben credits Mount Saint Mary’s for shaping his innovative approach to business. “The Mount was a huge catalyst for me,” he says. “There were so many experiences during the MBA program, such as our trip to China, that gave me new perspectives on business and operations. It broadened my viewpoint and showed me new ways to solve problems. It set me on the path to working with tech startups.”

Since graduation, Ben has made a significant impact in the startup world, working with companies like Latch, a firm specializing in building security and access systems, which was valued at $1.5 billion when he left. He also led the vendor operations for Airbnb during the launch of Airbnb Plus in 2018.

Ben’s entrepreneurial journey began during an MBA class at the Mount, where he developed the concept for a unique surfing shoe. Assigned to create a business idea and plan, he designed the shoe, which protects the foot while walking and then exposes the foot when surfing. With support from the California Inventors Assistance Program, the shoe has received a patent. Ben is now working with a Toms Shoes’ co-founder to make the shoes available for sale.

Despite his busy career, Ben remains deeply committed to supporting the Mount. As a member of the Brady Leadership Society, Ben and his wife, Ashley, contribute regularly to the Mount, and they have included the University in their legacy plans. In addition, he mentors current MBA students and serves as a board member for the ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ MBA Association of Professionals.

“Even with my donations and time spent mentoring students, I still wish I could give more,” Ben says. “The program shaped me, and I am grateful for the impact it continues to have on my life.”
