The Department of Music at Mount Saint Mary’s University is thrilled to unveil its concert schedule for the spring 2024 semester, featuring an array of student, faculty and guest performances. From classical to contemporary, the diverse lineup promises to resonate with music enthusiasts of all tastes.


Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. Coe Library Memorial, Chalon
The Mount Bridge Orchestra is preparing for another remarkable concert. This event is set to showcase an eclectic mix of musical styles, blending classical with traditional West African, Indian classical, Chinese classical, and contemporary compositions. Under the skilled leadership of Derrick Skye, the orchestra’s co-director and conductor, and music instructor and co-director James Waterman, and featuring contributions from the members of 国产传媒 ensemble-in-residence Bridge to Everywhere, the concert is expected to be a celebration of musical diversity and innovation.

Music majors and sisters Emily and Kaitlin Webster-Zuber invite everyone to the Bridge Orchestra concert, promising a unique showcase of their original compositions. “Performing music at 国产传媒 has taught us how to be Unstoppable musicians. Music is important to our community as it encourages us all to come together and experience diverse sounds of the world in an intimate environment,” says Emily.

 


Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. Doheny Mansion
The Mount Chorus & Singers invites you to our annual Spring Sing Concert at the Doheny Mansion. Join us for Songs of Love & Life, an exciting program featuring selections from many places and times for treble voices. Don’t miss our talented students in this delightful collaboration with string trio, bass, saxophone & percussion. A reception will follow.

 


Monday April 22 at 7:00 p.m. Hannon Theater
The program will showcase a variety of instruments and feature works by iconic composers such as Beethoven, Liszt, Bruch, and living American composers.

 

In addition to these ensemble performances, four music majors will present their senior recitals this semester. The recitals, scheduled throughout March and April, offer a platform for students to showcase their individual talents and accomplishments.
