Biography
Rhex Bartolome (he, him, his) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and therapist with Counseling and Psychological Services. He received his B.A. in Psychology from California State University Long Beach, and his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University.
Rhex grew up in the Northeast Los Angeles neighborhood of Atwater Village, during a time when there was a lot of gang activity and community violence. Those experiences gave him a strong urge to help people in need and uplift his community. Rhex spent the first part of his career providing mental health services to marginalized youth, young adults, and families through L.A. Department of Mental Health programs. Before The Mount, Rhex was a therapist at Woodbury University, where he supported students in reaching their academic and life goals. His approach to therapy is to utilize Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify practical ways to manage issues, process thoughts/feelings, and change unhelpful thought patterns.
Rhex identifies as Filipino American and enjoys living in a city with so much diversity. He is passionate about exploring different cultures by trying new foods and traveling the world. Some of Rhex’s other interests include running, spending time with family, and cheering for the Dodgers.
