Biography

Alan Lee is a tenured professor in the Department of Physical Therapy.  Dr. Lee earned his MSPT from Duke University, transitional DPT from Creighton University, and PhD in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.  He serves as the department’s general medicine curriculum coordinator and faculty coordinator/supervisor for the pediatric pro-bono physical therapy opportunity in at the Hospital Infantil de las California in Tijuana, MX. Dr. Lee maintains clinical practice at Scripps Mercy Hospital, a level I trauma center, in San Diego with board certifications in geriatrics and wound management from ABPTS as well as certified as a wound specialist from ABWM. He is passionate about innovative practice in physical therapy and serves as the current director of the technology SIG in the Academy of Leadership and Innovation (formerly HPA the Catalyst).  Currently, Alan is co-chairing the telehealth clinical practice guidelines workgroup and a member of the FiRST council in the American Physical Therapy Association.

Dr. Lee’s research includes best practices in the use of telehealth for physical therapy, and physical therapy interventions in acute care and post-acute care.
