What does it mean to be accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), on contingency?
If you complete a program that is recognized as “accredited, on contingency,” effective before your graduation date, you will have completed an APA accredited program. Accreditation is effective as of the final day of the site visit preceding the CoA decision.

When will 国产传媒’s PsyD program apply for full accreditation?
Mount Saint Mary’s University’s PsyD program will apply for “Full Accreditation” in 2-3 years once it obtains distal information from its first two graduated cohorts (e.g., type of employment; state licensing exams passing rates., etc.).

If one completes a program that is recognized as “fully accredited” effective before the graduation date, the individual will have completed an APA accredited program. Accreditation is effective as of the final day of the site visit preceding the CoA decision.

Mount Saint Mary’s University is accredited by the (WSCUC), and our PsyD program has been successfully reviewed by WSCUC via “substantive change” procedures (2018).  With accreditation by WSCUC in place, graduates of the PsyD program at Mount Saint Mary’s University, once they have completed the doctoral degree and required postdoctoral hours, are eligible to apply for licensure as a psychologist in California (and possibly other states, based upon individual state requirements).
