Summer Pathways, from June 30 to August 6, 2026, is a unique opportunity to jumpstart your student experience at the Mount!

Summer Pathways is a unique opportunity to jumpstart your student experience at the Mount!

The program is open to all incoming first-year students, regardless of their major. Students will attend two courses, Tuesday through Thursday, during the six-week Summer Pathways session, earning 5 units of credit before the school year begins. All courses are taught in-person at our Doheny campus.

All students will enroll in the Summer Pathways Seminar (SPR_001SP) and choose a second course.

Complete the application form on your 国产传媒 Admission Portal. Accepted students will be notified and given registration instructions.

Interested students should complete an application of interest for the program. Students will then be notified of their Summer Pathway enrollment and receive detailed next steps about course registration and program schedule. Applications of interest are due by June 12, 2026.

The program is cost-free. There is no tuition or fees! Health Insurance is required for enrollment and is available through 国产传媒 for a fee.

Students enrolled in the program will get a $250 stipend.

Courses

Students choose ONE course from the following. In addition, they will enroll in Summer Pathways Seminar. 

SPR_001SP Summer Pathways Seminar (2 units)
Students will connect with the Mission, offices, and people as they participate in immersion in the city. All Summer Pathways students will enroll in SPR_001SP.

 

Students will select a second course of their choice, making for a total of 5 registered units during the program:

ECO_044 Personal Finance (3 units)
Emphasis on the principles underlying financial security and investment planning; the study of credit institutions, the stock market, and home buying through special projects and experiences in the field.

ENG_001A: Freshman English (Written Communication) (3 units)
Foundations in university-level writing practices, including review of grammar and the mechanics of writing. This is a prerequisite course for nursing; the minimum passing grade is a 'C.'  **Placement Test Required. 

MTH_007: Survey of Algebra (3 units)
This fundamental algebra course addresses the topics of real numbers and their properties, fundamental operations, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, systems of equations, and exponential and logarithmic functions. Strongly recommended for STEM (not Pre-Nursing) majors before taking MTH_001.

MTH_010 Quantitative Reasoning & Mathematical Ideas (3 units)
(Meets LACE GE Community or Global) Ideas in mathematics chosen to emphasize problem- solving, decision-making, economic productivity and real-world applications. This is a prerequisite course for nursing; the minimum passing grade is a 'C.' **Placement Test Required. 

POL_001 American Politics & Government (3 units)
(Meets LACE GE Community or Global) This course examines the structure and procedures of American governmental institutions, the political principles upon which American democracy is based, and political participation in the United States.

PSY_001 Intro to Psychology (3 units)
(Meets LACE GE Community or Global) The course will survey major concepts, research findings, and practical applications of current research. This is a prerequisite course for nursing; the minimum passing grade is a 'C.'

SOC_001: Intro to Sociology (3 units)
(Meets LACE GE Community or Global). This course is an introduction to the scientific study of human social behavior. This is a prerequisite course for nursing; the minimum passing grade is a 'C.'

Parking

To park on campus, students must purchase a permit or pay the daily rate of $6. The stipend students will be issued when the courses begin could help if students use it for parking expenses.
