Doheny MansionExperience the grandeur of early Los Angeles with a visit to the Doheny Mansion, located on the downtown campus of Mount Saint Mary's University at 10 Chester Place. Chester Place was an exclusive gated community of Victorian mansions in the early 1900s and home to oil baron Edward L. Doheny and his wife Carrie Estelle Doheny for almost 60 years.
2026 public tours
The tour lasts approximately 2-1/2 hours, and involves walking, standing and climbing a few stairs.鈥疻e recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. No children under 12 years of age. No photographs are allowed inside the Doheny Mansion.
Private tours
Interested in a private tour of the Doheny Mansion? Private tours are $30 per person and require a minimum of 10 guests and a maximum of 40 (39 + tour director), no exceptions. Tours are only available on limited Saturdays and must start between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
